Ground Rules for membership:

1) Please fill out ALL the questions in the Meetup profile.

2) Please stay active on the site:

  • If you slip into an inactive member status (not visiting the message board in over 30 days), you will receive a friendly e-mail reminder that your account is currently inactive. After 60 days of inactivity, you will be removed from the group. Of course, there are always exceptions to every rule, but if you know you will be inactive for a while, or you receive our reminder e-mail, please respond and let us know when you will be back, actively participating with the group.

If you feel you will not be able to be active for a period of time please let an organizer know that you are still interesting in participating

3) No drugs or booze. If you want to have a beer with lunch, that's totally cool - but if you wanna stop every 10 minutes at a bar please find another group.

4) We ride in a pack with just enough rules to keep it safe.

5) Weather happens. A little water won't cause us to melt (I hope) but we don't want to spend the day freezing our butts off or getting soaked to bone. Pack some rain gear and let's be flexible.

6) Please RSVP to rides, a Maybe if you are thinking you might come. It's tough to plan a ride for 10, then end up with 30 bikes at the last minute and not have enough leaders.

7) Group rides will be limited to 12 bikes unless additional leaders are assigned. So please let us know if you can help lead or tail rides (we'll help you learn how!).

8) Ride your own ride. A lot of us are newer to riding. It's okay to take it slow, it's great to learn with this group. Let the leader know that you are new to riding or to group riding and we'll pair you up with someone who can help. It's NOT okay to ride at breakneck speed with this group. If you want to ride FAST, you should find other groups with whom you will be more comfortable riding.

9) Please be respectful on the message board:

  • When you post, use TACT!

  • Be respectful of everyone's opinions, you do not have to agree with them.

  • When you post keep in mind not everyone will agree with you and your feelings should not be hurt.

  • When there is nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

  • If you have an issue with someone, then e-mail them off the board and try to resolve your problems on your own. The group does not need to be thrown into your disagreement. It creates tension and will not be tolerated.

  • Do not imply things about other members on the board.
